How to run for the Eau Claire County Board

Eligibility

COUNTY BOARD SUPERVISORS are elected every 2 years with the next election occurring in the Spring of 2026.

 To be elected to the County Board, the following requirements apply:

  • Minimum of 18 years old at the time of the election
  • Live in the district you are seeking to represent for at least 28 consecutive days prior to the election
  • Not a person convicted of a felony (unless pardoned by the Governor or President)
  • Not a person convicted of a misdemeanor which breeches the public trust (a breech of public trust has not been defined by the Wisconsin Legislature)
  • No County Officer or employee is eligible to be a County Board Supervisor
  • A County Board Supervisor may also be a member of a town board, city common council or village board of trustees.

 

There are 29 supervisory districts in Eau Claire County with each one being represented by one elected resident of that district.
