Community Oriented Policing

Community policing, recognizing that police rarely can solve public safety problems alone, encourages interactive partnerships with relevant stakeholders. The range of potential partners is large and these partnerships can be used to accomplish the two interrelated goals of developing solutions to problems through collaborative problem solving and improving public trust. The public should play a role in prioritizing public safety problems.  Several officers are assigned to this position as a collateral duty and assist with developing and maintaining a partnership with the community while focusing on fostering better working relationships with our community.

Personnel are assigned to this position from the Secure Services and Field Services to allow a better connection with those seeking assistance.
